» Eligibility Requirements
» Applicant must work or reside in the Muncie Family YMCA service area.
» Assistance will be granted on the basis of financial need such as low income, hospital expenses, tragedies, etc.
» Applicant must support the YMCA mission and agree to demonstrate the YMCA character values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
» The YMCA believes a strong sense of ownership and pride is developed if the financial assistance recipient has contributed to the cost of their YMCA involvement. Therefore, applicants will normally be asked to pay a portion of the membership fee and/or program fee.
Financial assistance is granted for a six-month time period, during which recipients may have unlimited access to membership privileges and opportunities to sign up for programs.
After the initial six-month period expires, a new application must be completed if a renewal of financial assistance is requested. Renewals are subject to the availability of funds and an evaluation of how well the recipient used YMCA privileges, followed YMCA rules and regulations, and whether or not volunteer opportunities were accepted, and how well the member demonstrated the YMCA Character Values.
