Get ready for the new school year with the YMCA of Muncie's Back to School Bash—your one-stop destination for back-to-school essentials, family fun, and community resources!

Families can prepare for the school year all in one place with free school supplies sponsored by the Delaware County Prevention Council and Community Donors, free sports physicals provided by IU Health, and free haircuts provided by PJ’s College of Cosmetology, helping students head back to the classroom feeling prepared and confident. Plus, enjoy games, activities, giveaways, and opportunities to connect with local community organizations.

Whether you're checking off your back-to-school to-do list or simply looking for a fun afternoon with the family, the Back to School Bash has something for everyone. Join us as we celebrate the new school year and help local students start strong!

School Supply & Personal Hygiene Drive

Helping Students Start Strong

We are collecting new, unused, and sealed items only to ensure the health and safety of all recipients. No partially used or opened products. These items will be given away to kids/families during our End of Summer Bash on July 29th. Donations can be dropped off at our Yorktown YMCA or Muncie YMCA. Thank you!

Help students start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

  • Backpacks

  • Notebooks (spiral or composition)

  • Folders (with pockets/prongs)

  • Loose-leaf paper

  • Binders (1–2 inch)

  • Pencils (#2)

  • Pens (blue/black)

  • Erasers

  • Highlighters

  • Markers (washable preferred)

  • Crayons or colored pencils

  • Glue sticks

  • Scissors

  • Pencil cases/boxes

  • Rulers

  • Basic calculators

Support students with everyday essentials that promote health, confidence, and self-care.

  • Toothbrushes (individually packaged)

  • Toothpaste (sealed)

  • Shampoo (unopened)

  • Conditioner (unopened)

  • soap (bar or body wash, sealed)

  • Deodorant (new)

  • Hairbrushes and combs

  • Hair ties/scrunchies

  • Feminine hygiene products (pads/tampons)
