April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month
The YMCA of Muncie is joining with Ys across the county for Five Days of Action, April 22-26, to raise awareness about how to prevent child sexual abuse.
At the Y, we are committed to providing a safe place for kids, not just within our walls, but in our entire community. Bringing awareness to the issue of child abuse and prevention is vital to keeping our kids safe. To do this, we have taken steps to ensure our programs are safe and our staff and volunteers are trained. But we can’t do it alone.
You play a vital role in bringing awareness to the issue of child sexual abuse. By stepping up and speaking out, we can all work together to make our community a safer place for children.
Together, we can stand up to demand that children are protected, and speak out to encourage all adults to make it happen. But it takes all of us.
You can make a difference by:
- Bringing awareness to the issue of child sexual abuse to your community
- Fostering conversations around how we can prevent it
- Speaking up if you see a boundary violation
By stepping up and speaking out against child sexual abuse, you are not only saving childhoods, but improving the lives of all of us.
Start today by filling out a pledge card and sharing with friends. You can also take a selfie with your pledge and tag the @YMCAofMuncie on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
